Job summary

An established specialist contractor in London is seeking an experienced Estimator to join its pre-construction team. You will prepare accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for stonework, joinery and specialist finishes packages across high-end commercial, residential and hospitality projects.

Responsibilities include reviewing drawings, taking offs, obtaining supplier quotes, and liaising with clients and design teams.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an Estimator within construction, fit-out or specialist subcontracting.
• Proven ability to estimate joinery and stonework packages.
• Strong ability to interpret drawings and specifications.

An established specialist contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Estimator to join its pre‑construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders for high‑end commercial, residential and hospitality projects, with a particular focus on stonework and bespoke joinery packages. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business delivering prestigious interior fit‑out and specialist finishes projects across London and the South East.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for stonework, joinery and specialist finishes packages.
• Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Carry out detailed material take-offs and labour pricing.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Identify value engineering opportunities while maintaining quality and specification.
• Liaise with clients, architects, designers and the commercial team throughout the tender process.
• Prepare pricing schedules, tender qualifications and supporting documentation.
• Attend site visits and pre‑tender meetings where required.
• Support the handover of successful tenders to the delivery team.

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience as an Estimator within construction, fit‑out or specialist subcontracting.
• Proven experience estimating both joinery and stonework packages is essential.
• Strong ability to interpret architectural drawings and technical specifications.
• Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• Good understanding of construction methods, procurement and pricing.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and estimating software.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.

Desirable Experience

• Natural stone, marble, porcelain or ceramic installations.
• High‑end commercial fit‑out, luxury residential or hospitality projects.
• Bespoke joinery, specialist interiors or architectural finishes.
• Experience working with Tier 1 contractors and leading fit‑out companies.
