Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Glasgow seeks an Associate Director / Estimating Manager to lead estimating across feasibility to detailed design on major complex projects in infrastructure, transport and energy. You will guide bid activities, grow the portfolio and develop a high-performing team.

This role requires strong estimating, risk and contingency expertise, plus stakeholder engagement with designers, engineers and clients to deliver robust basis‑of‑estimate reports for director reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Estimating, Quantity Surveying, Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered status or working towards RICS/ICE/ACostE or similar.
• Strong understanding of contingency and risk allowances.
• Knowledge of indirect costs and cost breakdown structures.
• Stakeholder engagement with designers, engineers, PMs and clients.
• Willingness to obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead estimating service delivery from feasibility through to detailed design.
• Produce Class 5 to Class 1 estimates; support bid activities to grow the portfolio.
• Develop a high performing team and support regional leadership.
• Demonstrate advanced understanding of measurement methods.
• Oversee full take-offs and client outputs; ensure quality and accuracy.
• Lead peer reviews to drive continuous improvement.
• Author basis-of-estimate reports for director reviews.
• Lead use of benchmarking data and market data for estimates.
• Drive internal reviews and governance for client deliverables.
• Collaborate with wider Estimating & Cost Advisory team.
