Job summary

Fluence is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead EPC turnkey projects across the EMEA region. You will coordinate engineering teams, subcontractors, and procurement to deliver on time, within budget, and to contract requirements.

The role requires 5+ years in utility-scale power projects, HV systems, and cross-disciplinary leadership. English is essential; German or other European languages are a plus. Travel within the EMEA region is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the design and execution of utility-scale power systems, PV plants, BESS, or similar energy infrastructure projects within the EMEA region.
• Strong expertise in EPC projects involving high-voltage systems, renewable energy, or conventional power generation.
• English fluency; German or other European languages advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage external engineering firms, subcontractors, and internal engineering disciplines to ensure timely and high-quality project delivery.
• Ensure engineering deliverables meet contractual requirements, are constructible, and consider country-specific/regional design, regulatory, and cost impacts.
• Lead internal and external design review meetings and ensure ISO 9001 quality compliance.
• Drive value engineering and promote innovative approaches to improve system design and project outcomes.
• Support procurement activities by developing construction/electrical equipment specifications and evaluating vendor/subcontractor proposals.
• Review designs to verify compliance with project requirements and contractual obligations.
• Take full technical responsibility for assigned EPC turnkey projects, including medium- and high-voltage systems.
• Manage technical escalations and provide resolution for engineering and execution challenges.
• Execute projects in alignment with Fluence safety requirements and KPIs.
• Travel across the EMEA region as required to support project execution.
