Job summary

Leonardo UK is seeking a Senior or Principal Systems Engineer in Edinburgh to define and maintain EO system requirements across the lifecycle. You will translate stakeholder needs into robust system and subsystem specifications that guide design, integration, verification and validation.

Working within the MIMAS Transition Phase Engineering Team, you will establish a traceable requirements baseline, manage interfaces, and collaborate with multidisciplinary engineers to deliver clear, testable

Qualifications

• Experience in requirements management within a complex engineering environment.
• Experience analysing and managing stakeholder requirements.
• Experience developing system and subsystem requirements.
• Strong understanding of requirements practice including quality, traceability, verification and change management.
• Experience using IBM DOORS or equivalent.
• Understanding relationship between requirements, architecture, interfaces and verification/validation.
• Experience developing non-functional requirements (safety, security, manufacturability, supportability).
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Proactive approach with ability to take ownership and deliver collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Analyse and manage stakeholder requirements for clarity and traceability.
• Develop and maintain EO system and subsystem requirements throughout the lifecycle.
• Use DOORS to maintain baselines, traceability, and change control.
• Support development of functional architectures and allocation to system elements.
• Support interface definition and management with clear, traceable interfaces.
• Support V&V planning and activities through the development of clear, testable requirements.
• Develop and manage non-functional requirements (safety, security, manufacturability).
• Communicate progress, risks and dependencies to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to keep requirements aligned.
