Job summary

Leonardo UK in Lincoln is seeking a Senior/Principal Systems Engineer to lead the Integrated Mission Solutions team in delivering Defensive Aid Mission Data systems. You’ll oversee full lifecycle systems engineering, from requirements elicitation to test and acceptance, within an Agile framework and with end-user collaboration.

The role demands extensive MDS design experience, EWOS knowledge, and leadership skills, with occasional travel in the UK and overseas.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in Operational MDS design and development.
• Strong understanding of EWOS and RF signal propagation.
• Knowledge of passive/active EW sensor systems and emitter identification.
• Experience conducting engineering gate reviews with traceable test evidence.
• Familiarity with JEWOSC/MSC tool sets, data and processes.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply systems engineering best practices across the full lifecycle.
• Interpret radar emitter data and refine requirements with EW specialists.
• Support MDS production, verification and validation for compliance.
• Produce technical documentation and present at engineering gate reviews.
• Act as focal point for MDS process adherence and team development.
• Travel occasionally in the UK and overseas to engage with customers and partners.
