Job summary

Leonardo in Edinburgh is seeking Senior or Principal Systems Engineer to shape future Electro-Optic (EO) systems by defining and maintaining robust requirements. You will translate stakeholder needs into high-quality system specifications that enable design, integration, and verification across the lifecycle.

As part of the MIMAS Transition Phase Engineering Team, you will use DOORS, manage interfaces, and contribute to performance and non-functional requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in requirements management and requirements engineering within a complex engineering environment.
• Ability to analyse and manage stakeholder requirements and translate them into validated system specifications.
• Experience developing system and subsystem requirements and maintaining traceability across lifecycles.
• Familiarity with DOORS or equivalent tools for baselining and change control.

Responsibilities

• Analyse and manage stakeholder requirements, ensuring clear understanding and traceability.
• Develop and maintain EO system and subsystem requirements across the lifecycle.
• Use DOORS to maintain baselines, traceability, and change control.
• Support functional architectures and allocate requirements to system elements.
• Define and manage interfaces with clear traceability.
• Contribute to V&V planning and testable requirements development.
• Develop non-functional requirements including safety and security considerations.
• Communicate progress, risks and dependencies to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to keep requirements aligned with design.
