Job summary

Dalcour Maclaren is seeking a Senior Environmental Planner to lead delivery of planning services for projects with varied environmental sensitivities across the UK. You will coordinate feasibility, screening, scoping and planning work, and deliver robust reports and planning applications with client teams and planners.

You will bring a planning degree and MRTPI, strong analysis, client-facing negotiation, and excellent communication, plus GIS proficiency and a proactive, team-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

• Relevant planning degree and MRTPI chartered membership.
• Strong analytical and presentation skills; able to write and input into large multi-disciplinary projects.
• Commercial acumen with ability to understand client needs and negotiate with stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills and willingness to learn and develop.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of environmental planning services for projects with varying environmental sensitivities; manage feasibility, screening, scoping and planning.
• Build and maintain relationships with client teams, specialists and Local Authority officers; attend meetings and site visits.
• Own team performance, meet deadlines, and drive progress with initiative to improve delivery.
• Support business development, guide on complex cases, identify new work and cross-sell services.
• Mentor junior staff, conduct progress reviews and delegate tasks effectively.
