Job summary

Dalcour Maclaren is seeking a Technical Director in Planning to lead complex planning work for UK infrastructure and renewables projects. Report directly to the client, develop strategies, and mentor junior staff while driving delivery across multiple offices.

The role requires MRTPI, strong UK planning knowledge, excellent communication, and the ability to manage client relationships and project programmes within a growing team.

Qualifications

• Must hold a planning degree and MRTPI chartered membership.
• Strong working knowledge of the UK planning system.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a planning team to deliver complex projects.
• Develop capital schemes and consent applications (DCO/ICO/SRO).
• Build client relationships and manage project programmes.
• Provide guidance on environmental and planning considerations.
• Contribute to business development and cross-sell services.
• Mentor junior staff and support team development.
