Job summary

WSP seeks an experienced Principal Environmental Permitting Consultant to lead complex permitting and regulatory projects for a diverse client base across energy, waste, industrial and utilities sectors. You will supervise permit applications, risk assessments, and regulatory audits while mentoring junior staff.

You will work with multidisciplinary teams, develop long-term client relationships, and contribute to the growth of the Environmental Permitting, Compliance & Nuclear Regulation team

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in environmental permitting, compliance and regulatory frameworks.
• Proven track record leading complex permit applications and regulatory submissions.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, budgets and programmes of work.
• Experience developing and maintaining trusted client relationships.
• Strong commercial awareness and proactive growth mindset.
• Experience mentoring and coaching colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of complex permitting, compliance and regulatory projects.
• Oversee preparation of Environmental Permit applications and related reports.
• Conduct regulatory audits and risk assessments for clients.
• Manage project delivery, budgets and client relationships across multiple projects.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to business development.
