WSP is seeking a Principal Environmental Permitting Consultant to lead the delivery of complex permitting, compliance and regulatory projects for energy, waste, industrial and utilities clients across the UK.

You will provide technical leadership, oversee permit applications, mentor junior staff, manage multiple projects and budgets, and build long‑term client relationships while supporting business development.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience delivering environmental permitting, compliance and regulatory projects.
• Strong expertise in Environmental Permitting Regulations and policy.
• Proven leadership in permit applications and regulatory submissions.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, budgets and programmes.
• Experience building trusted client relationships.
• Commercial awareness with proactive growth mindset.
• Experience mentoring and coaching colleagues.
• Excellent communication with clients, regulators and teams.
• Chartered status or membership of a relevant professional institution, or pathway to it.
