Job summary

WSP is seeking Senior/Principal Consultants for Environmental Permitting, Compliance & Nuclear Regulation in the UK. You will deliver permitting and compliance projects for energy, waste, industrial, manufacturing and utilities, preparing Environmental Permit applications and assessments.

You will join a growing team in Manchester with flexible location across UK offices, contributing to a sustainable future while mentoring colleagues and expanding client relationships.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of Environmental Permitting Regulations and associated environmental legislation.
• Experience preparing Environmental Permit applications and supporting technical assessments.
• Knowledge of sectors such as energy, waste, industrial, manufacturing or utilities.
• Experience undertaking qualitative and/or quantitative environmental risk assessments.
• Ability to manage your own workload and deliver high-quality outputs to agreed timescales.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly.
• A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Environmental Permit applications and supporting technical assessments.
• Contribute to a wide range of projects across energy, energy transition, waste, industrial, manufacturing and utilities sectors.
• Develop strong client relationships through high-quality delivery and project work.
• Mentor/guide junior team members within a growing Environmental Permitting group.
