Job summary

Laing O'Rourke is seeking a Senior Environment Advisor for the Great Grid Upgrade, based on-site at Chesterfield/High Marnham with travel to Birmingham as needed. You will lead environmental management for major power infrastructure construction, shaping sustainability across EDEU projects and collaborating with multiple teams to embed responsible practices.

The role requires extensive field experience in construction or civil projects, with strong knowledge of ISO 14001, BREEAM, and carbon

Qualifications

Experience across Greenfield projects in construction or infrastructure.
Strong knowledge of ISO 14001 EMS and audits.
Experience with BREEAM, Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) and carbon management.

Responsibilities

On-site environmental management and advice to project teams from GI/early works.
Implement and monitor ISO 14001 EMS.
Lead environmental audits and inspections; ensure regulatory compliance.
Support BREEAM, Biodiversity Net Gain, and carbon reduction strategies.
Collaborate with designers, engineers and subcontractors to embed sustainability.
Prepare environmental documentation, reports and stakeholder communications.
Champion on-site environmental awareness and continuous improvement.
