Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking an environmental construction consultant delivery lead to drive post-consent and construction delivery across major infrastructure projects. You will coordinate environmental licences, permits and planning requirements from design through delivery, providing leadership and clear technical guidance to cross-disciplinary teams.

The role focuses on ensuring compliance, governance and timely delivery, with opportunities to mentor teams and shape future service

Qualifications

• Experience in pre-construction and construction environmental management.
• Ability to manage multiple consents, licences and planning requirements.
• Proven leadership in fast-moving delivery environments.
• Strong communication and governance capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the growth of environmental construction and secondary consent capability, identifying market opportunities.
• Oversee identification, scoping and programming of environmental requirements into delivery plans.
• Act as a focal point for environmental construction and secondary consents across projects.
• Serve as Project Director or senior strategic lead on post-consent and construction commissions.
• Advise on discharge of environmental planning conditions and DCO requirements.
• Develop and implement environmental compliance processes throughout design stages.
• Forecast demand, identify resource constraints and shape recruitment plans.
• Mentor and build capability within junior colleagues.
