Job summary

AECOM is looking for a Senior Environmental Consultant in the UK to coordinate environmental inputs to EIA screening and scoping, environmental assessments and related reports, collaborating with a large UK-wide team across the Environment practice. The role supports projects spanning energy, infrastructure and transport within a flexible hybrid working model.

You will engage with clients, drive mitigation strategies, and help grow the environmental services footprint through technical proposals

Qualifications

• A degree in a relevant environmental discipline (preferably a Masters degree) and an appropriate professional membership.
• EIA consultancy experience, including coordinating the preparation of environmental reports and the technical review of specialist chapters.
• Developing understanding of relevant consenting regimes.
• The ability to work collaboratively as part of an established team, coordinating inputs from specialist technical teams.
• Developing project management skills, including programming and budget management.
• A commitment to innovation and continuing professional development.
• Experience of the DCO and/ or TWAO consenting regimes would be beneficial, but not essential.
• Efficient verbal and report writing skills, including technical reviewing, and confidence when engaging with a wide variety of stakeholder groups.

Responsibilities

• Provide Expertise: coordinate environmental inputs to EIA screening and scoping reports, environmental assessments/Environmental Statements and supporting documents, including the technical review of specialist chapters.
• Ensure Quality: deliverables produced to the highest quality standards.
• Project Management: coordinate resources and budgets (with support as applicable).
• Collaborate: work as part of integrated design teams to improve environmental outcomes and identify mitigation solutions.
• Client Contact: direct contact with clients and internal supply teams.
• Growth: promote environmental services to internal and external audiences and support fee and technical proposal development.
