Job summary

HelloKindred is seeking a Senior Database Engineer to support enterprise database environments across Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL. You will drive high availability, disaster recovery, performance tuning, and automation in a hybrid office setup with some on-site presence.

Experience with Payments or Core Banking systems is highly valued. Ideal candidates will demonstrate 10+ years of DBA hands-on experience, strong SQL skills, and familiarity with Linux/Unix, monitoring tools, and cloud

Qualifications

• 10+ years hands-on DBA experience in enterprise environments.
• Strong expertise in at least one major RDBMS (Oracle/SQL Server/PostgreSQL).
• Experience supporting high-volume transactional systems, ideally in payments/banking/financial services.
• Knowledge of HA/DR technologies like RAC, AlwaysOn, replication, clustering.
• Strong SQL and performance tuning skills.
• Familiarity with DBA monitoring tools (e.g., OEM, Dynatrace, Splunk, Prometheus).
• Experience with Linux/Unix environments and backup/recovery strategies.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (GCP/AWS/Azure) and cloud-native databases.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support enterprise databases across Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or other major RDBMS.
• Support high-volume transactional databases within complex enterprise environments.
• Implement and maintain high availability and disaster recovery technologies (RAC, AlwaysOn, replication, clustering).
• Perform SQL development and database performance tuning to optimize system performance.
• Monitor database environments using tools such as OEM, Dynatrace, Splunk, and Prometheus.
• Support databases running in Linux and Unix environments.
• Implement and maintain backup and recovery strategies and tools.
• Develop scripting and automation using Python, Shell, Ansible, or Terraform.
• Advise on Payments, Liquidity, or Core Banking system contexts where applicable.
• Contribute to cloud database initiatives across GCP, AWS, or Azure.
• Apply DevOps practices and support CI/CD pipelines.
• Ensure data security and regulatory compliance within banking environments.
