The role emphasizes capacity planning, incident response within SLAs, and collaborating with Data Engineering and Security teams while exploring horizon technologies to strengthen the database ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Strong Oracle and SQL Server administration and optimisation experience.
• Expertise in performance tuning and query analysis.
• Experience with high availability and disaster recovery solutions.

Responsibilities

• Optimise database performance and query efficiency across platforms.
• Review and modernise database security, access controls, and compliance.
• Ensure data integrity through validation and controls.
• Maintain resilience and high availability across environments.
• Rationalise and consolidate database estates to reduce complexity and cost.
• Monitor platforms, resolve incidents within SLAs.
• Plan capacity and resource utilisation for growth.
• Support engineering teams with database expertise.
• Stay informed on emerging database technologies and horizon scan.
