DRW, a diversified trading firm, seeks a Senior Database Engineer focused on PostgreSQL and Oracle to own design, implementation, and support of mission-critical database environments in London. You will manage clustering, backups, replication, and performance tuning while collaborating with engineering and development teams to optimize data strategies.

Qualifications

5+ years of production PostgreSQL database engineering experience.
5+ years of production Oracle database engineering experience desired.
Experience with clustering, replication and mirroring is a plus.
Strong knowledge of database performance tuning and configuration tools.
Excellent problem-solving and team collaboration skills.
Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to different work environments.

Responsibilities

Proactively manage and optimize PostgreSQL/Oracle databases and OS environments.
Perform database performance and query tuning.
Implement and maintain production and non-production databases.
Perform backups, log shipping, mirroring and replication tasks.
Collaborate with system engineering on installations, configurations and capacity planning.
Work with development teams on database design and usage optimization.
Respond to production incidents and critical needs.
