Job summary

HelloKindred is seeking a Senior Database Engineer to provide hands-on DBA leadership in an enterprise environment. You will manage databases across Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL, ensuring high availability, performance, and security across Linux/Unix platforms.

The role involves supporting payments and core banking related data, implementing HA/DR, and contributing to cloud initiatives on AWS, Azure, or GCP. This is a hybrid role with a three-day office presence per week.

Qualifications

• 10+ years hands-on DBA experience in enterprise environments.
• Strong expertise in Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL.
• Experience supporting high-volume transactional systems (payments/banking/financial services).
• Knowledge of HA/DR technologies: RAC, AlwaysOn, replication, clustering.
• Strong SQL and database performance tuning skills.
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments.
• Cloud experience with GCP, AWS, or Azure and cloud-native databases.
• Scripting/automation skills (Python, Shell, Ansible, Terraform).
• Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of data security and regulatory requirements (FCA, PRA).

Responsibilities

• Administer and support enterprise database environments across major RDBMS platforms.
• Support high-volume transactional databases in complex enterprise settings.
• Implement and maintain high availability, disaster recovery technologies (RAC, AlwaysOn, replication, clustering).
• Perform SQL development and database performance tuning to optimize systems.
