Rolls-Royce SMR is recruiting a Senior Engineer for Verification & Validation Delivery (Electrical) to lead V&V strategies and coordinate with design leads. The role requires mentoring junior engineers, ensuring safety-critical compliance, and delivering robust verification across the plant lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Experience in verification and validation of new products in safety-critical industries.
• Experience leading complex engineering projects; nuclear experience preferred but not essential.
• Experience identifying, managing and escalating technical and programme risks.
• Ability to resolve issues while ensuring quality and safety standards.
• Strong collaboration and communication across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop verification and validation strategies within your area of responsibility.
• Act as an intelligent customer in the V&V of the plant and across the RR SMR business.
• Support the verification and validation of the safety case.
• Produce reports for regulatory bodies and present findings with regulators.
• Define objectives and requirements for verification activities and align with delivery teams.
• Review and collect evidence of verification activities across internal teams and the supply chain.
• Collate evidence and assess compliance against requirements.
• Coach and review the work of others to elevate technical quality.
• Perform detailed technical checks and provide constructive feedback to peers.
• Ensure compliance with relevant nuclear and safety‑critical standards (IEC 61508/61513/61226).
