Job summary

Rolls-Royce SMR is seeking a Senior Engineer to drive verification and validation across safety-critical systems for the SMR power station. You will develop comprehensive verification strategies and work with design leads to demonstrate compliance before construction begins.

You will mentor other V&V engineers, support capability development, and perform rigorous technical reviews to ensure quality and consistency. Hybrid roles with Derby, Manchester or Warrington as primary sites.

Qualifications

• Experience in verification and validation of new products in safety‑critical or highly regulated environments.
• Proven ability to lead complex engineering projects; nuclear experience is a plus.
• Strong project management including scope, schedule, resources and financial control.

Responsibilities

• Develop verification and validation strategies within your area of responsibility.
• Act as an intelligent customer in the V&V of the plant and RR SMR business.
• Support verification and validation of the safety case.
