Job summary

Kier Design is seeking a Senior Engineer to join their design team, supporting a broad range of construction engineering services. You will lead the delivery of temporary works design and design management across multiple projects while mentoring team members and maintaining high safety and buildability standards.

The role offers hybrid working across locations in the UK, with a strong emphasis on collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and senior client engagement to ensure project success.

Qualifications

• Must be an incorporated member of a relevant professional institution or have significant construction engineering experience.
• Experience in leading the delivery of construction engineering services including temporary works design, design management and technical assessments.
• Confident in managing projects, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and quality management systems.
• Strong communicator who builds positive relationships with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of temporary works design, tender support, alternative solutions, and design management advice across projects.
• Manage day-to-day workloads of engineers and technical staff, ensuring technical compliance and quality of design deliverables.
• Act as lead representative at project meetings, developing positive relationships with clients and ensuring contractual obligations are met.
• Oversee the financial and commercial aspects of projects, monitoring progress against programme and budget.
• Provide leadership to your team, conduct performance reviews, and support staff development within Kier Design.
