Job summary

FM Conway Ltd. seeks an experienced Senior Engineer to lead structural maintenance and inspection work for London's highway network. Based in Paddington, you will manage inspections, design tasks and technical approvals across Local Authority clients, with a focus on safety, efficiency and value.

You will contribute to programme delivery, cost planning and reporting, collaborating with clients and internal teams to resolve complex structural issues and ensure project success.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of highway structures and structural maintenance, with experience in inspections, technical reporting and structural design.
• Experience in structural maintenance programmes in the public sector, with reinforced concrete, steel structures and foundations.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of structural maintenance programmes across the Structures team.
• Plan and deliver General Inspections (GI) and Principal Inspections (PI) of highway structures including bridges and footbridges.
• Produce annual inspection programmes and cost plans for Local Authority clients.
• Complete inspections and record findings using BridgeStation.
• Respond to USA requirements, investigating incidents such as vehicle strikes and structural damage.
• Produce technical investigation reports and recommend repair or reinstatement options including costs.
• Prepare monthly contract reports and manage costs, forecasts and profit and loss.
