Job summary

FM Conway Ltd is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Consultancy Division in London. You will lead delivery of technically challenging highway structures projects, oversee design and assessment work, mentor engineers and maintain strong client relationships.

The role requires chartered status (ICE/IStructE) or working toward; experience in highway structures, design checks and NEC3 contracts; and proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or related discipline required.
• Chartered status with ICE or IStructE preferred.
• Demonstrable highway structures experience and structural design capability.
• Experience in design checking, concrete/steel structures and retaining walls.
• Knowledge of NEC3 contracts and client-facing communication essential.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and Revit; strong team collaboration and commercial awareness.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural assessments and develop design solutions for highway structures and buildings.
• Produce designs for concrete, steel, timber and masonry components including retaining walls.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations and design documentation.
• Perform design checking and provide technical assurance for quality.
• Conduct inspections and site surveys; support asset management strategies.
• Manage project programmes, budgets and risks to meet standards and deadlines.
• Maintain client relationships and ensure strong customer focus.
• Mentor engineers and support colleagues toward chartership.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of services and delivery methods.
