Job summary

WSP is seeking a Technical Director to lead structural engineering services for major UK energy infrastructure projects, including substations and transmission facilities. You will manage project teams, shape technical direction, ensure design excellence and client satisfaction, and mentor engineers to grow capability.

Hybrid working and flexible arrangements are offered. The role requires Chartered Engineer status and a proven track record in leadership of complex, multidisciplinary projects

Qualifications

• Chartered Engineer (CEng) with a relevant professional body.
• Significant experience in structural engineering design and project leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the structural design and delivery of complex energy infrastructure projects.
• Provide strategic input into project planning, resourcing, and risk management.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
• Contribute to business development, client presentations, and building strong client relationships.
