Job summary

Matchtech is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer in Leicestershire to join a product development team. You will develop embedded firmware and control strategies in C/C++, supporting prototypes through production release, and build system-level solutions using first-principles engineering thinking.

You will conduct hands-on verification/validation on real hardware, perform debugging and root-cause analysis, and interface with sensors and actuators using I2C, SPI, CAN and USB.

Qualifications

• Commercial experience in embedded software engineering (C/C++).
• Strong engineering fundamentals and problem-solving skills.
• Clear communicator with collaborative approach.

Responsibilities

• Develop embedded firmware and control strategies in C/C++.
• Support full product lifecycle from prototype to production release.
• Build system-level solutions using first-principles thinking and model-based approaches.
• Hands-on verification and validation on real hardware.
• Debug and perform root-cause analysis and optimization at component and system level.
• Interface embedded control with sensors/actuators using I2C, SPI, CAN, USB.
• Work in a process-led environment with testing, reporting, and change control.
