Job summary

Tech Connect Group is recruiting on behalf of our client for a Software Design Engineer to join their Software Team in Warwick. You will develop embedded software for vehicle control systems, design and test using MATLAB/Simulink, and support the lifecycle from design through verification to vehicle testing and commissioning, collaborating with cross‑functional engineers.

The role requires hands‑on production experience, strong model‑based development skills, and familiarity with CAN protocols,

Qualifications

Experience developing embedded software in a production environment.
Strong model-based software development skills.
Experience working with vehicle communication protocols such as CAN.
Experience of software testing, debugging and calibration.
A degree in Engineering, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
The ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively within a team.

Responsibilities

Developing embedded software for electric vehicle applications.
Creating software using MATLAB/Simulink.
Designing and implementing new software features and functionality.
Supporting software verification, validation and testing activities.
Developing test solutions to ensure requirements are met.
Assisting with functional safety and cyber security activities.
Supporting vehicle commissioning, testing and fault finding when required.
Working closely with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver projects on time.
