Job summary

Platform Recruitment seeks an experienced Embedded Firmware Engineer to join a highly technical R&D team developing bespoke hardware and firmware for advanced embedded platforms. You will work across low-level bare-metal to RTOS environments, with hands-on involvement in hardware bring-up and prototyping.

Role involves developing firmware in C, debugging issues, and creating automated tests while collaborating closely with hardware and multidisciplinary teams in a hybrid Fareham setting.

Qualifications

• Strong embedded C experience required.
• Solid understanding of serial protocols SPI, I2C and UART.
• Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
• Ability to read schematics and datasheets to troubleshoot.
• Ideally exposure to FreeRTOS or MISRA C or low-level protocols.

Responsibilities

Embedded Firmware Engineer

We're looking for an experienced Embedded Firmware Engineer to join a highly technical R&D team developing bespoke hardware and firmware solutions for advanced embedded platforms. You'll work across multiple layers of development, from low-level bare-metal programming through to real-time operating environments, with hands-on involvement in hardware bring-up, chip validation, prototyping and product development.

The Role:

• Develop embedded firmware in C
• Work across RTOS and bare-metal environments
• Support hardware bring-up, validation and prototyping
• Debug hardware/software issues using lab equipment
• Develop automated tests and verification tools
• Work closely with hardware and multidisciplinary engineering teams

What We're Looking For
