Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering.
• Proven track record developing high-quality embedded software for end-user products.
• Experience in a technical leadership role within a software team.
• Expert knowledge of object-oriented programming, pair programming, memory management, distributed systems, multi-threading, and on-target debugging.
• Advanced knowledge of C++ is required.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum development practices.
• Advanced verification skills (TDD, unit testing, code reviews) and planning (story development, backlog, estimation).
• Advanced configuration management skills (version control, CI/CD, automated builds, release management).
• Intermediate electronics knowledge (MCUs, memory, peripherals; schematics; oscilloscope/logic analyzers).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Defines and troubleshoots system-level software design proposals and complete architectures.
• Collaborates with hardware engineers on microprocessor selection and interfacing.
• Performs component testing of software and verifies firmware compatibility with hardware.
• Leads by example to improve quality and efficiency in the software team.
• Leads software estimation for business planning.
• Interfaces with engineering teams, stakeholders, and customers to understand requirements.
• Acts as liaison between cross-functional teams and software discipline spokesman.
• Ensures effective interfaces with third-party engineering partners.
