Job summary

ZENOVO in Bristol (hybrid: 3 days on-site) is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to own embedded software across the lifecycle for energy storage and battery tech. You will craft robust firmware, interfaces, and drivers with strong C/C++ at MCU level, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

The role emphasizes safety-critical and high-performance environments, with opportunities for development, validation, and deployment support.

Qualifications

2+ years of commercial embedded software experience.
Strong C/C++ for microcontrollers.
Experience with CAN/UART/SPI/I2C and RTOS concepts.
Able to collaborate effectively within an engineering team.
Experience with software testing and debugging.

Responsibilities

Design, develop and maintain embedded software and firmware for energy storage systems.
Develop C/C++ software for microcontrollers including low-level drivers.
Contribute to software architecture and design for robust solutions.
Implement and integrate CAN, UART, SPI and I2C interfaces.
Support hardware integration and battery management systems.
Perform testing, debugging and verification for safety and performance.
Follow code reviews and version control processes.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across prototyping to production.
