Job summary

ZENOVO in the UK is seeking a Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer to join our on-site team in Droitwich Spa. You will design, develop and maintain firmware in C for microcontroller-based systems and take ownership across the product lifecycle.

You'll work closely with electronics engineers on hardware integration, testing and validation, and contribute to RF testing and low-power embedded applications. A practical, hands-on approach and strong debugging skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in embedded software development using C.
• Proven experience with microcontrollers and embedded systems.
• Experience with PIC, ESP32 or similar MCUs.
• Solid understanding of electronics hardware and firmware interaction.
• Experience debugging, testing and integration of firmware.
• Hands-on, practical approach to product development.
• Ability to own technical challenges and drive solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain embedded firmware using C.
• Take technical ownership of firmware development across the product lifecycle.
• Develop and debug firmware for microcontroller-based systems (PIC/ESP32 or similar).
• Work with electronics engineers on hardware integration and product development.
• Support design, testing and validation of electronic products.
• Work with communications tech, telemetry and low-power embedded applications.
• Contribute to RF testing, radio frequency performance and product compliance.
• Identify and resolve issues across firmware and hardware interfaces.
• Contribute to design reviews, improvements and engineering best practices.
• Support and share knowledge with other engineers in a collaborative hands-on team.
