Job summary

Mott MacDonald Bentley is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design across major water and wastewater projects in Scotland. You will shape electrical functions from concept through commissioning, coordinating with design, construction and operations teams to deliver compliant, safe solutions.

Join a collaborative, one-team environment with opportunities to mentor engineers and develop your chartership. Travel to sites across the region is required as projects progress.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Chartership (CEng) with a relevant Engineering Institution
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Experience delivering high quality outputs in line with design, quality and safety standards
• Effective communication with team members and stakeholders
• Willingness to travel to sites across the operational region
• Water/wastewater experience required

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee electrical design, planning and execution on projects.
• Provide design support and ensure schemes meet current legislation and standards.
• Collaborate with commercial, operational and construction teams to develop safe, efficient solutions throughout design and build stages.
• Engage with clients, manage relationships and adopt a one-team approach.
• Manage interfaces between process design and other disciplines; produce documentation.
• Act as technical checker and undertake reviews across projects.
• Identify opportunities to improve delivery through standard designs, sustainable solutions, and digital tools.
• Conduct site reviews to ensure buildability and proper integration with existing systems.
• Support and mentor mechanical engineers and allocate resources appropriately.
