Job summary

Sweco is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to provide technical direction across the discipline for AMP8 projects in the UK. You will guide design teams, ensure regulatory compliance, and mentor engineers while delivering robust, sustainable electrical solutions.

You will work in a hybrid environment with involvement across project design teams, construction phases, and client interfaces. The role emphasizes leadership, compliance, and delivering high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent, Chartered status preferred.
• Experience with water-sector assets and capital projects.
• Knowledge of relevant regulations, standards and codes of practice.
• Proven leadership, mentoring and coaching of engineers.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering direction to discipline engineers and ensure fit-for-purpose designs.
• Collaborate with design managers to align milestones and reviews.
• Review specifications, drawings and models for quality and safety compliance.
• Mentor junior engineers and share technical expertise.
• Support CDM, commissioning strategy meetings and project timelines.
• Drive sustainability, low-carbon designs and offsite/offsite solutions.
