Job summary

COWI is expanding its Infrastructure Design team in the UK, seeking a Senior Civil Infrastructure Engineer to contribute to multidisciplinary projects across highways, rail, water and development infrastructure. You will provide technical leadership, foster collaboration with specialists, and deliver buildable, sustainable solutions from concept through construction.

You will mentor junior engineers, support client relationships, and help deliver projects within time and budget while upholding

Qualifications

• Degree in civil engineering (or equivalent).
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or IEng, or progress toward professional qualification.
• Strong technical background in at least one infrastructure discipline (highways, drainage, utilities, development infrastructure or power distribution).
• Comfort coordinating designs across multiple disciplines and interfaces.
• Experience using Civil 3D, InfoDrainage, MicroDrainage or equivalent tools.
• Experience delivering UK infrastructure projects across highways, rail, water, energy, utilities or development infrastructure.
• Familiar with CDM Regulations and designer's risk assessment requirements.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams and mentoring junior staff.
• Strong verbal and written English communication.
• Full UK driving license.

Responsibilities

• Lead infrastructure design packages across highways, rail, drainage, utilities and related disciplines.
• Act as technical lead ensuring integration with other disciplines and stakeholders.
• Prepare/review calculations, drawings, specs, design reports with high quality.
• Coordinate interfaces, identify risks, opportunities and constraints.
• Maintain client relationships and advise on technical delivery.
• Support project managers on programme, resources and commercial objectives.
• Undertake site visits and provide construction-phase support.
• Apply CDM requirements and conduct design risk assessments.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and technicians.
• Contribute to technical standards and digital delivery improvements across the team.
