Job summary

Penguin Recruitment Ltd in the West Midlands is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead building services projects from concept to post‑completion. You’ll own your work, with a stake in the business as it’s employee‑owned, and you’ll mentor junior engineers while collaborating with other disciplines.

The role offers hybrid working, clear progression, and fast interview slots via Teams or in person, with a strong emphasis on client liaison and delivering high‑quality designs.

Qualifications

• HND minimum (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or a related subject.
• Proven experience as an Electrical Design Engineer in building services.
• Confident running projects independently, start to finish.
• A strong communicator who’s happy leading clients and teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical designs, keeping projects on time, on budget and to a high standard.
• Be the main client contact and run project meetings.
• Review drawings, specifications and reports.
• Work with other disciplines to find practical solutions.
• Mentor our junior Electrical Design Engineers.

Overview

My well-established, expanding client is looking for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to run building services projects from concept through to post-completion. You’ll have real ownership of your work, and because their employee-owned, a real stake in how the business does.

The Electrical Design Engineer team is friendly and collaborative, and will back you with a clear path to progress.
