Job summary

Options Resourcing Ltd is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for a Building Services consultancy in Sittingbourne, Kent. You will take ownership of electrical design across commercial, residential and industrial projects, guiding from concept to completion and supervising junior engineers.

You will lead design tasks, coordinate with architects and mechanical engineers, ensure compliance with UK regulations and standards, and contribute to energy‑efficient and smart building solutions,

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience within Building Services/MEP consultancy.
• Experience leading MEP teams across multiple projects.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Strong knowledge of UK electrical standards and Building Regulations.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and Revit or similar design software.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design projects from concept through to completion.
• Act as Project Lead, managing project delivery, timescales and technical requirements.
• Design and specify electrical systems including power distribution, lighting and fire alarm systems.
• Coordinate electrical design with architects, mechanical engineers, contractors and other project stakeholders.
• Carry out site surveys, assessments and feasibility studies.
• Produce, review and approve technical drawings, calculations and reports.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant UK electrical standards and Building Regulations.
• Support the delivery of energy-efficient and sustainable electrical solutions.
• Contribute to the integration of renewable energy and smart building technologies.
• Oversee testing, commissioning and troubleshooting of electrical systems.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.
• Build strong relationships with clients and other key project stakeholders.

Senior Electrical Engineer – Building Services

Location: Sittingbourne, Kent

Salary: Up to GBP60,000 DOE

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join a growing Building Services consultancy based in Sittingbourne. This is a senior‑level opportunity for an Electrical Engineer who is confident taking ownership of projects, leading electrical design, coordinating with wider project teams and providing technical support to junior engineers. You will work across a range of commercial, residential and industrial projects, delivering high‑quality electrical solutions from design through to completion.

About You

• Minimum 5 years' experience within Building Services / MEP consultancy.
• Experience managing or leading MEP teams across multiple projects.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Strong experience in electrical building services design.
• Good working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit or similar design software.
• Strong knowledge of UK electrical standards and Building Regulations.
• Excellent technical, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable working independently while also leading and supporting a wider team.
• Relevant Building Services consultancy experience is preferred.

Desirable

• Chartered Engineer status or currently working towards chartership.
• Experience with renewable energy systems, energy efficiency or smart building technologies.
• Experience working across a variety of commercial, residential or industrial projects.
