Job summary

TRUE Engineers Limited in South Bucks (near High Wycombe) seeks a Senior Electrical Design Engineer for MEP building services. You will lead electrical design across LV systems, lighting, life safety, security, and smart building services, taking ownership of projects from concept to detail.

The role requires 3–5 years UK design experience and an HNC/HND or degree in building services or electrical engineering, with the ability to manage several projects in a friendly SME.

Qualifications

• Desire to work in a friendly SME environment
• Able to handle several ongoing projects at various stages

Responsibilities

• Electrical services design including LV design, lighting, life safety, security, AV and lightning protection
• Develop concept, feasibility and detailed design proposals with specifications, drawings and calculations
• Use DIALux lighting and Amtech electrical software for design work
• Attend meetings with clients and design teams
• Work with UK building services teams in a consultancy or contractor environment
• Knowledge of UK design legislation and guidance

Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer / MEP Design / Building services / Senior Electrical Design Engineer

This highly regarded consultancy provides complex mechanical, electrical, public health, and sustainable engineering solutions to a broad range of projects. Projects range from large new-builds, renovations and fit-outs, to bespoke environmental designs that result in more efficient buildings. The range of work is wide covering all sectors including commercial, education, residential and health care.

This role is ideal for someone who likes to take responsibility for their own projects.

Job Overview and Responsibilities

• Electrical services design including but not limited to building systems including LV design, lighting and lighting control systems, life safety systems, security systems, audio visual systems and lightning protection
• Preparation and development of concept, feasibility and detailed design proposals, which include specifications, drawings, calculations
• Using DIALux lighting and Amtech electrical software
• Attend meetings with clients, other professional design team members and contractors
• Strong technical expertise within electrical building services design, gained working within the UK building services industry for either a consultancy or contractor
• Knowledge of UK design legislation and guidance

Qualifications & Attributes

• A minimum of 3-5 years' electrical services design experience in the UK
• Minimum HNC/HND level in building services or electrical engineering or degree equivalent
• A desire to work in a friendly SME environment
