Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a Principal/Senior EICA Engineer for the Water sector with hybrid working across multiple locations in England. You will lead electrical design, guide multidisciplinary teams, and ensure compliant, cost-aware solutions throughout the project lifecycle.

The role requires UK water sector experience, a degree in Electrical Engineering, and strong governance, risk management and client-facing skills. You will mentor engineers and support bids.

Qualifications

• Experience leading complex electrical design projects.
• UK water and wastewater sector knowledge preferred.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the delivery of complex electrical engineering designs within the water and wastewater sector.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance across multidisciplinary project teams.
• Develop innovative, practical and risk-balanced engineering solutions.
• Ensure all electrical designs are safe, compliant, buildable and cost-effective.
• Produce, review and approve electrical calculations, specifications, reports and drawings.
• Support major project bids and contribute to successful project delivery strategies.
• Act as a technical reviewer and maintain high standards of governance and quality assurance.
• Manage technical delivery from high-level project briefs, balancing programme, cost, quality and resource requirements.
• Identify, assess and manage technical risks, ensuring issues are addressed proactively.
• Work with clients, contractors, suppliers and stakeholders to achieve objectives.
• Support and mentor engineers and designers to develop technical capability.
