Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Associate Director to lead Environmental Impact Assessment work across major UK projects. You will manage multidisciplinary teams, oversee EIA screening, scoping reports and Environmental Statements, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to secure development consent.

The role offers hybrid work in the UK with opportunities to lead high-impact projects across transport, energy and infrastructure sectors.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing EIA projects and methodologies.
• Experience with Development Consent Orders (DCO) and/or Transport and Works Act Orders (TWAO).
• Ability to coordinate specialist inputs within multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience in managing project programmes, staff resources and budgets.
• Strong written/verbal communication and report-writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary environmental inputs to help clients gain development consent.
• Collaborate with design teams to identify constraints and mitigation options.
• Create and support business opportunities and fee/technical proposals.
• Inspire staff development and mentoring.
• Promote AECOM’s environmental services to clients and internal teams.
