Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking a Senior EIA Consultant to support our Environmental Management and Assessment Team in the UK. You will lead environmental inputs across projects from feasibility through planning and construction, working with engineers and environmental specialists to improve biodiversity, air and water outcomes.

Qualifications

• Relevant environmental degree level qualification in EIA or similar
• Chartered Environmental Status and full membership of IEMA or equivalent
• Experience of EIA processes and coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams
• Knowledge of environmental and planning legislation
• Post-qualified experience coordinating environmental assessments
• Understanding of project management including commercial/risk, forecasting and QA
• Experience in business development and bid preparation
• Strong verbal and written communication for reports and meetings
• Promoting a positive health, safety and wellbeing culture

Responsibilities

• Providing environmental advice and support to clients, project managers and colleagues
• Working with diverse environmental specialists and engineers to promote sustainable design and environmental enhancement
• Managing environmental inputs into projects including EIA screening, scoping reports and Environmental Statements
• Overseeing project delivery with focus on technical quality, commercial and health & safety
• Building relationships with clients and identifying opportunities for resourcing, scheduling and strategy development
• Undertaking business development activities including proposals and bid preparation
• Supporting development of innovative techniques like Digital EIA and Future Ready EIA
• Inspiring and upskilling junior colleagues and promoting a health, safety and wellbeing culture
• Contributing to the success of WSP projects across rail, energy, aviation and infrastructure
