Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior EIA Consultant to support our Environmental Management and Assessment Team in the UK. You will work across sectors such as energy, aviation, rail and property, shaping environmental input from feasibility to planning and construction.

The role requires strong EIA experience, Chartered status or progress towards it, and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, manage projects, and contribute to business development. Candidates should be proactive and safety‑conscious.

Qualifications

• A relevant environmental degree level qualification in EIA, or similar.
• Chartered Environmental Status and IEMA membership or equivalent.
• Experience of EIA processes within multidisciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of environmental and planning legislation.
• Post-qualified experience coordinating environmental assessments.

Responsibilities

• Provide environmental advice and lead environmental inputs to projects.
• Coordinate EIA screening, scoping, impact studies, and Environmental Statements.
• Manage projects with attention to technical quality, cost, schedule and safety.
• Lead bid preparation, proposals and business development activities.
• Collaborate with cross‑disciplinary teams, clients and external bodies.
• Promote sustainable design and environmental enhancement.
• Support the development of innovative techniques (Digital EIA, etc.).
• Coach and upskill junior colleagues and foster a healthy safety culture.
• Contribute to WSP’s business strategy and project delivery excellence.
