Job summary

WSP in London is seeking a Senior or Principal Consultant to lead environmental consents for aviation projects, delivering planning applications, EIA, airspace change proposals, and DCO support.

You will manage multi-disciplinary inputs, bid activities, and client relationships, mentor junior staff, and help shape sustainable aviation outcomes across UK airports. This is a hybrid, London-based role with opportunities for chartership and career growth within a global practice.

Qualifications

• Environmental degree level qualification in EIA or similar.
• Practitioner or Chartered Environmental Status and IEMA membership.
• Experience conducting EIA for aviation schemes under UK planning regimes.
• Ability to coordinate tasks across technical teams and external clients to deliver on time and within budget.
• Ability to lead meetings with the wider technical team and external clients and stakeholders.
• Experience coordinating a suite of environmental surveys for EIA with Health & Safety knowledge.
• Bid preparation experience with appropriate fee adjustments for aviation projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with strong report writing and QA.

Responsibilities

• Deliver environmental inputs into aviation projects including planning applications, EIA, airspace change proposals, and DCO support.
• Coordinate environmental surveys and studies with Health and Safety considerations.
• Develop and maintain client relationships; support resourcing, planning, strategy, and project delivery.
• Prepare proposals and contribute to strategic bid activities.
• Promote innovative techniques such as Digital EIA and Technical Excellence.
• Mentor junior colleagues and support career development.
• Promote inclusivity and Health & Safety in the workplace.
• Contribute to the WSP business strategy and project goals.
