Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking a Senior or Principal Consultant for the Environmental Consents team in London to guide aviation projects from planning through EIA and related assessments.

You’ll lead environmental inputs, coordinate cross-disciplinary work, manage stakeholder engagement, and help secure new work while delivering high-quality outcomes in a hybrid working environment.

Qualifications

• A relevant environmental degree level qualification in EIA or similar.
• Achieved or working towards Practitioner or Chartered Environmental Status and Full membership of IEMA, or similar.
• Experience of undertaking EIA for aviation schemes with limited supervision under UK planning regimes.
• Ability to coordinate tasks across technical teams, clients, stakeholders and partners, delivering on time and within budget.
• Ability to lead meetings with the wider technical team and external clients and stakeholders.
• Experience coordinating environmental surveys for EIA for aviation schemes, with Health and Safety knowledge.
• Experience in bid preparation and responding to client change requests with appropriate fee adjustments.

Responsibilities

• Managing the delivery of environmental inputs into aviation projects including planning applications, EIA, airspace change proposals, and DCO support.
• Co-ordination of environmental surveys and health and safety requirements.
• Build relationships with clients; identify opportunities for resourcing, scheduling and strategy.
• Prepare proposals and contribute to bid preparation and business development.
• Promote innovative techniques such as Digital EIA and future-ready EIA; mentor junior colleagues.
• Promote inclusive workplace, uphold health and safety and align with company values.
