Job summary

WSP is seeking an Associate or Associate Director to lead Environmental Consents for aviation projects in the UK. You will navigate complex planning regimes, provide environmental advice, and manage multi-disciplinary inputs across the project lifecycle.

You will direct planning applications, EIA studies, airspace changes and DCO support, while growing client relationships and leading bids. Hybrid work is offered across UK offices, with a focus on delivering high‑quality environmental outcomes.

Qualifications

• Relevant environmental or planning degree (or equivalent experience), with chartered status or actively working towards chartership.
• Demonstrable experience in delivering Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) for aviation schemes, under UK planning regimes.
• Familiarity with consenting processes for aviation projects, including Habitats Regulations Assessment (HRA).
• Capable of leading client communications and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, regulators, and the public.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate environmental contributions across project designs and assessments.
• Deliver Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) for aviation schemes.
• Manage client communications and key stakeholder engagement.
• Lead bids and proposals to secure new work and framework opportunities.
• Support strategic planning and delivery of aviation projects including EIA and planning inquiries.
