Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking an Associate/Associate Director to lead environmental consents for aviation projects in the UK. You will navigate consenting processes, deliver EIA-related studies, and contribute to strategic planning and client engagement across landmark aviation schemes.

The role requires chartered status or active progression toward it, with a strong track record in environmental design, assessment, and management throughout project lifecycles.

Qualifications

• Relevant environmental or planning degree, with chartered status or working toward chartership.
• Experience delivering Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) for aviation schemes under UK planning regimes.
• Familiarity with Habitats Regulations Assessment and environmental permit processes.
• Ability to lead client communications and manage stakeholders.
• Knowledge of policy trends in environmental/planning sectors.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and report-writing skills.
• Proven people management and leadership of internal teams.
• Experience contributing to strategic planning, bids, and business development.

Responsibilities

• Grow aviation sector offering with sector leads and client managers.
• Provide environmental advice and support to clients and project teams.
• Lead large, complex aviation projects with focus on timely delivery.
• Direct recruitment, bidding, project team management and delivery.
• Develop proposals for complex opportunities and bids.
• Champion innovation through Digital EIA and Future Ready.
• Promote inclusive team environment and health & safety culture.
