Job summary

Essex County Council is seeking a Specialist Senior Educational Psychologist to join our quadrant-led teams in Essex. The role blends statutory and early intervention work with strategic development, dedicating 20% to a specialist area and 80% to delivering consultation, supervision, and multi-agency collaboration across SEND and Education services.

You will contribute to complex casework and Tribunal work, with opportunities for leadership, research, and innovation in learning support.

Qualifications

• BPS-recognised Psychology degree and Doctorate in Educational Psychology.
• HCPC registration and eligibility for Graduate Basis with the BPS.
• Extensive experience applying educational psychology principles and practice.
• Understanding of children's services and collaborative, multi-agency working.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert consultation and advice across SEND and Education teams.
• Deliver professional supervision for EPs, Trainee EPs, and Assistant EPs.
• Lead and contribute to strategic development and project work.
• Engage in complex casework and Tribunal work as part of service delivery.
• Maintain up-to-date specialist knowledge through CPD relevant to EPS.
