Job summary

Leicestershire's Specialist Teaching Service is seeking a highly experienced Senior Specialist Teacher of Cognition and Learning to provide leadership within the Expert at Hand and SEND reforms. You will mentor staff, shape service development, and work across schools, families and partner agencies to secure positive outcomes for pupils with cognition and learning needs, including dyslexia and dyscalculia.

Qualifications

Degree level qualification and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with evidence of professional development in Cognition and Learning.
Experience with pupils with cognition and learning needs including dyslexia and dyscalculia.
Strong knowledge of assessment, teaching strategies and interventions for cognition and learning needs.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership within the Specialist Teaching Service.
Lead on service development and deputise for the Team Manager as required.
Manage performance, supervise staff, and contribute to recruitment and deployment of staff.
Represent the team in multi-agency groups and strategic partnerships.
Deliver training, consultation and professional development to educational settings.
