Job summary

Stantec is seeking an Ecologist or Senior Ecologist to join our growing Ecology Team in the UK. You will work with the Principal Ecologist on a varied portfolio, conduct surveys, design mitigation measures and obtain protected species licences.

Senior candidates mentor juniors and lead components independently, with travel and driving licence required. You will contribute to multidisciplinary teams across planning and design, applying UK/EU wildlife legislation and Defra metrics.

Qualifications

• Minimum BSc in Ecology or related environmental discipline.
• Solid consultancy experience with UK/EU wildlife legislation.
• Licence for protected species and licensing process experience.
• Ability to design and implement mitigation and enhancement measures.

Responsibilities

• Conduct surveys and assessments across multiple sectors.
• Design and implement mitigation and enhancement measures.
• Prepare licence applications for protected species.
• Mentor junior ecologists and contribute to a collaborative team.
