Job summary

Parexel is seeking a Principal Database Programmer – eCOA (eCOA Study Designer) for a fully home-based role across the United Kingdom. The role focuses on designing, configuring, testing and maintaining electronic data capture and eCOA solutions used in clinical trials.

You will translate protocols into participant-facing questionnaires and workflows, coordinate configurations with EDC, and support validation, deployment and ongoing study maintenance across global projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in life sciences, computer science, health informatics or a related discipline.
• Written and oral fluency in English.
• Proven experience with eCOA/ePRO/eDiary is required.
• Strong CRO/Pharma industry experience.
• Hands-on configuring an eCOA platform (e.g., Medidata Designer eCOA) is preferred.
• Knowledge of questionnaire design, schedules, branching logic and translations.
• Experience with EDC systems and data flow between eCOA and EDC.
• Familiarity with SOPs, ICH-GCP, 21 CFR Part 11 and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design, set up, maintain, revise and close out eCOA studies across multiple projects.
• Configure questionnaires, screens, code lists, schedules and branching logic in the eCOA platform.
• Coordinate initial eCOA configuration and push to EDC, aligning with CRFs.
• Perform technical quality control and prepare UAT materials.
• Support deployment readiness and post-production troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and sponsors to resolve design issues.
