Job summary

Staffordshire County Council is seeking an experienced Early Years Senior Consultant (Improvement) to strengthen curriculum design and assessment across the Early Years Foundation Stage, with a particular focus on Reception. You will work with settings, schools and partners to drive improvement and ensure every child has the best possible start in life.

You will lead targeted development activities, analyse EYFS data to identify priorities, and promote inclusive practice across Staffordshire.

Qualifications

Level 6 qualification in Early Years, Education, SEND or related field with QTS.
Comprehensive knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage Profile as a statutory assessment tool.
Ability to analyse EYFS data, identify priorities and drive continuous improvement.
Experience leading teams, projects or workstreams delivering sustained improvement for children and families.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Strengthen curriculum design, assessment and teaching across the EYFS, focusing on Reception.
Support settings to improve progress for at-risk children.
Promote inclusive practice and high-quality early education.
Monitor and support settings to improve outcomes through observation and development planning.
Build partnerships with schools, MATs, providers and stakeholders for effective transitions.
