Job summary

AWD online is seeking an Early Years Improvement Officer in Matlock to drive teaching quality and improvement across nurseries, childminders and schools. You will coach practitioners, help with curriculum planning and assessment, and contribute to Ofsted readiness.

You will deliver training, analyse needs and prepare evaluative reports and action plans, working flexibly across locations and with partners to improve outcomes for children.

Qualifications

• Significant experience of teaching in an early years education setting.
• Qualified Teacher Status is required.
• Early Years Teacher Status or Early Years Professional Status is desirable.
• Experience of supporting early years practitioners to improve practice and outcomes.
• Strong knowledge of the EYFS statutory framework, early years pedagogy, child development, Ofsted frameworks and relevant national policy.
• Ability to analyse need, support improvement activity and manage change.
• Good coaching, adult teaching and training delivery skills.
• Ability to write evaluative reports, action plans and other clear professional documentation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including fluent English.
• Confident IT user with the ability to work flexibly across a range of locations.
• Self-motivated, resilient and able to work well as part of a team.
• Reflective, diplomatic and committed to ongoing professional development.
• Ability to travel within the County according to service need.

Responsibilities

• Support and challenge leaders, managers and practitioners across EYFS settings with guidance and constructive feedback.
• Develop and deliver high-quality training and professional development for EYFS practitioners.
• Support providers to improve EYFS provision, strengthen practice and outcomes for children.
• Offer guidance on curriculum planning and assessment to meet EYFS requirements.
• Provide advice and support relating to Ofsted inspections, frameworks and regulations.
• Coordinate the development and delivery of EYFS projects in line with local/national priorities.
• Build and maintain strong partnerships with EYFS practitioners, schools and child services.
